We want to give you an update on the status of our Youth Ministry Director position. The recruitment team has interviewed two local candidates so far (one from Roseau and the other from Bemidji). The third candidate, Bryan Dickson, is from Illinois and will be here Sunday, December 27. The entire recruitment team has reviewed his credentials, however, Pastor Steve and I are the only ones who have talked to him and we were very impressed by him. So we chose to bring his family up at this time because they will be in Minnesota to visit his family during the Christmas holiday (he grew up in Apple Valley). Having them come up while they are in the state is the most expeditious and economical way to cover that base. However, no one should take this as “he’s the guy” at this point. The recruitment team will interview Bryan while is here. Because he lives farther away, we also want as many people as possible to have an opportunity to interact with him while he is here so we can get as much feedback as possible. We also want them to learn as much about us and the community so that, if we should decide to recommend him, the Dickson family has all the information they need to make a decision.
After church on Sunday, December 27 there will be an opportunity for the youth group kids, adult youth leaders and parents to have an opportunity to meet Bryan and his family and ask him some questions. We will be serving pizza in the fellowship hall. If other members of the congregation are interested in attending, you are also welcome. Bryan will be interviewing with the recruitment team (Pastor Steve, Tony Fichter, Sonya Peterson, Bill Brandt, Kelly Christianson, Rachel Krahn, Jayden Acker and Reilly Stroot) on Sunday evening.
