Serve

Serving Opportunities

God creates us with unique gifts and abilities that complement each other when we come together. Whatever your gifts and abilities are, wherever God is calling you to serve, we have a place for you. Take a look at the tabs below to learn more about opportunities to get involved at RECC.

Worship Team

The Worship Team is made up of volunteers who use their musical gifts to glorify God and lead worship on Sunday mornings. Volunteers are on a rotation and usually don't serve every Sunday. Volunteering with Worship Team includes two rehearsals per week to prepare for that week's service, one on Thursday evenings and one on Sunday mornings at 8:00am. If you would like to see if the Worship Team is a good fit for you, contact the church office.

Audio/Visual Team

The Audio/Visual Team consists of volunteers who serve behind the scenes. These volunteers run the Sunday morning services from the soundboard, handling the audio and worship service slides and keeping the service running smoothly. Volunteering with the AV Team includes brief training on how to run the soundboard and service slides, as well as participating in Sunday morning worship rehearsal at 8:00 am. If you want to see if AV Team would be a good fit for you, contact the church office.

Sunday School Team

The Sunday School team uses their gifts in working with children, teaching them about the Bible and Jesus's love. Volunteers help teach Sunday school classes for kids age 0-18 using age appropriate curriculum. Volunteering with the Sunday School Team involves a training meeting at the beginning of the year, a background check paid for by RECC, some preparation before each lesson, and teaching every Sunday morning during the school year. To see if volunteering with the Sunday School Team is a good fit for you, contact the church office.

Youth Group Team

Volunteers with the Youth Group Team love pouring into the lives of teenagers grades 6-12. Volunteering with the Youth Group involves a background check paid for by RECC, hanging out with students every Wednesday night during the school year, and attending various Youth Group retreats and events throughout the year. If you think serving with the Youth Group Team is the place for you, contact the church office.

Hospitality Team (Usher, Greeter, Meals, Treats)

The Hospitality Team is made up of volunteers who enjoy creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in our church. Volunteer positions include Sunday morning service ushering, door greeting, making and serving treats during fellowship time after the Sunday morning service, and bringing meals for Youth Group on Wednesday nights. All of these positions can be on a rotating basis so volunteers can have weeks off. If one of these position sounds like a good fit for you, contact the church office.

Bus Team

The Bus Team is a unique but practical serving opportunity for volunteers who are passionate about bringing students to Jesus. Roseau Evangelical Covenant Church provides a bus to and from every summer camp at Bluewater Covenant Bible Camp. The bus is available to any student who wants to go to Bluewater. We believe that Jesus changes lives, and he uses camps like Bluewater to bring students into a faith relationship with him. We don't want transportation to camp to be a barrier for students to go and meet Jesus. Therefore, making it as easy as possible for those students to get to camp is a ministry we are passionate about. We need volunteers who are willing to get their bus driving license and be available during the summer months to make trips to and from Bluewater. If this is an opportunity you are interested in, contact the church office.

What if I don't fit any of these serving opportunities?

We want to ensure that everyone has a place to get plugged in. If you don't feel God calling you to any of these serving opportunities, we would love to chat with you about different ways you can serve in the church. Contact the church office and let's talk.

What if I don't have a lot of time to commit to serving?

We ask that volunteers honor the commitments they make to our church. We understand that life happens, and we value any time that our volunteers can commit to serving. Our serving opportunities are flexible and we strive to connect you to a group that honors your gifts, abilities, time and energy.
