RECC Treasurer Update
Just a quick update from the Treasurer. This year the RECC congregation stepped out on faith to increase our budget to support a new full-time Children and Family Pastor position to further expand our church’s ministry. So far this year the church body has stepped up to increase our support of this position. Through June, offerings from the congregation have increased in support of the church’s missions by approximately $660 per week over last year to $5,000 per week! While total offerings are still short of our 2016 budget of $5,811/week, the church is maintaining a balanced budget as Pastor Kecia has been only working part-time as our current Children and Family Pastor until the search committee selects a permanent full-time pastor.
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer vacations and I know it means many weekends away from church; however, the work of the church doesn’t stop in the summer and the church needs your continued support to meet our on-going obligations even through the summer. In June, offerings were down by nearly $700 per week over the previous five months. One way you can continue your support of the church’s mission over the summer when you might be away is to set up an automatic payment that can be directly deposited in the church’s account. Contact me if you have an interest in setting up automatic payment for your church tithe.
Also, the church will no longer be issuing or using offering envelopes. Over the years the use of the offering envelopes has diminished to only a few members still utilizing them. For those giving an offering via check, there is no need for an offering envelope. Either use a standard envelope or no envelope. For regular attendees providing an offering with cash who would like a receipt from the church, simply provide your cash offering in a standard envelope with your name on the outside, or inside. The Trustees will make sure that your offering is properly recorded.
Thanks for all your receipts and have a blessed summer!
