Leadership Council Update - October 2016

    An update from the Leadership Council.

    Update from the Church Leadership Council

    The Leadership Council has been busy behind the scenes all summer, supporting the individual boards, committees, and staff. It's exciting to see and hear what our new SENIOR PASTOR, YOUTH DIRECTOR, and CHILDREN AND FAMILY MINISTRY DIRECTOR have been working on. With Pastor Steve supervising all of these positions, there is increased vision and coordination of the ministries and the programming that is involved.   
    The Pastoral Search Committee has been working since June on the detailed process of selecting a FULL-TIME CHILDREN AND FAMILY MINISTRY PASTOR. They are currently beginning the interview process. This was identified as a priority of our church family, and it is exciting to see that the vision will soon be realized.
    Our boards (Deacon, Trustee, Christian Formation, and Mission and Outreach) have ambitious agendas that show the passion for having a church that is moving forward in our mission to serve OUR LORD AND SAVIOR. Please read the Leadership Council and Congregational Meeting minutes that are posted on our website for updates. 
    One area that all of our members and attendees should be aware of is that our FINANCIAL GIVING is tracking behind our projected budget. This isn’t an easy subject to talk about, but it's important for everyone to realize that in order to move forward with our  mission and vision, we need to meet our financial goals. We know that our offerings drop in the summer with many people being gone. It's important to remember that the financial obligations remain constant even when our attendance drops. One way to be more consistent with giving is to set up an automatic payment schedule through your bank. This way you are contributing even when you are gone. If you would like to more about this please talk with our Treasurer, Todd Peterson ( ), or call your bank and ask for details.  
    It's October and we are well into our Fall schedule. That means that we will be convening the Nominating Committee to begin working on the ballot for the Annual Meeting in January. There are many important positions that need to be filled each year. If you are called and asked to serve, please know that the decision to contact you is after careful consideration and prayer. Please be open to the Lord’s nudging when you respond to this request. Also, if you know that you have a spiritual gift that hasn’t been made clear to the Nominating Committee we would love to hear from you. Serving The Lord is so much easier and fulfilling if you are doing what has been given to you as a SPIRITUAL GIFT.
