Exciting Things are Happening at RECC!
The Christian Formation board has finished kicking off the Sunday School season, and we are looking forward to our Christmas Program and potluck. You may have been asked to fill out a registration form if you have kids in Sunday school. With this form, we gather parent contact information, any allergies or special needs we should be aware of, and who is allowed to pick up children after Sunday school. These are important steps in keeping our kids safe. If you have not filled out a form with your information, please pick one up from the information table and turn it in to the secretary’s desk or to any CF board member.
For the second year in a row, we held a special event on Thanksgiving weekend. Instead of our regular SS classes, all ages gathered in the fellowship area to enjoy the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving movie and popcorn generously donated from the Roso Theater. The Adult Sunday School class is also meeting each Sunday at 9:00 am. Joe Elick just finished a session about Relationships. Chrissy Wahlberg-Goodson has just started a three week session about Praying for our Adult Children. Remember, we provide a nursery during the Sunday school hour. Please join us!
The Christmas Program is on Sunday, December 18th at 5:30 pm, followed by a potluck dinner. The title is “3 Wise Men and a Baby” and will feature our Preschool through 6th grade kids and a few cameos by some of the “characters” you see at church. Kristine Dickson has been working hard as director along with a great bunch of helpers. The final dress rehearsal and party for ALL children is on Friday, December 16th, from 3:30-7:30 pm. Dinner and treats will be provided. Parents, please make sure your kids are there.
Remember, there is NO Sunday School on December 25th. There WILL BE Sunday School on January 1st, 2016.
The CF board is putting Bibles in the hands of our kids every year by giving each 2nd grader an Adventure Bible and each Confirmation student a beautiful leather-bound Bible. Please let us know if there are other students who do not have access to a Bible.
It takes many people volunteering in many ways to bring our young people closer to Jesus Christ. We are so appreciative for those who are serving in our Sunday School, Nursery and Children’s Church during the worship service each Sunday. Please pray about where you could use your gifts for God’s glory.
